Rego Renewal in Victoria

You have to renew your vehicle registration at the VicRoads annually. You will receive a notification from the VicRoads department 6 weeks prior to the expiration date. In this way, the driver never misses the date. It is your responsibility to keep the home address up to date all the time in the VicRoads system, so you will receive all the notifications. You will receive the notifications by the email if you have selected the VicRoads app. The registration fee will be calculated based on the Transport Accident Charge and on the type of the vehicle. The period for registration renewal is usually for 12 months. But you can also change it for a shorter period if necessary, i.e. 3 or 6 months. You need to go to the VicRoads website in order to change this, then change the ‘Registration Period’ before making the payment.
