You will receive a renewal notice from your registered postal address within 4 to 6 weeks before the registration expiration date. You are allowed to renew the registration for 3, 6, or 12 months for heavy and light vehicles having a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of 4.5 tons or more.
Light trailer registrations can be renewed only for 6 months or 12 months. You can find the payment number through the TAS Rego Check service, or it is also given on the renewal notice. An SMS reminder can also be set to alert you when the registration is due.

Haven’t Received Renewal Notice?
You can still pay for your vehicle’s renewal and confirm its registration status if you cannot access a renewal notice for any reason. The TAS rego check online service will display your vehicle’s registration status and its expiration date. It will also display a green button if a renewal notice has been sent out for the vehicle that will link you to the payment options and numbers.
Receiving Renewals Online
You cannot receive the renewal notices online via mail. However, you will be given an online option using BPAY View if receiving a renewal is more convenient for you. The renewal notices will be sent directly to your online banking service by using BPAY View. You need an online banking service to use this service by following the given steps:
